Saturday, October 02, 2004Falling leaves, changing colors, cool crisp air, the signs that prelude winter are already here. Oh how the summer flew by, winter is just around the corner. Getting blown across the UPEI campus by gusts of wind and snow is just what I've been looking forward to. Not. On a brigher note, it's only 85 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!! The FANS Potluck was on Wednesday. Lots of people showed up and it was fabulous. I ate large quantities of really healthy food and some not so healthy desserts:P After the potluck I stumbled home bloated and full to the brim with food and tried to study for my FN 221 midterm, studying didn't go over well, but I think I did fairly well on the exam, it wasn't as dreadful as I had expected. I also got my first test back for communications, which was 100%, the whole class did really well. I decided to get involved with more volunteer work, starting this month I will be volunteering at Glen Stewart School for the Healthy Snack Program, basically I will be helping out with buying groceries for the snacks and serving the food to all the school kids, which should be a really good experience, plus my niece is in grade 2 and I'll get to see her! I am also helping out with a few projects with the Healthy Eating Alliance and still volunteering at the soup kitchen. I am extremely busy, but it will be worth it in the end I hope. The soup kitchen was extremely dead yesterday as it was the beginning of the month and some cheques were just out, only 25 people showed. Unfortunately there was a belligerent drunk man who spilt his food ALL over the floor and asked me to give him seconds while drooling all over the counter :S He then proceeded to fall down a flight of stairs. Yeah, it was quite the site. There's a young girl that volunteers with me, and I told her if you ever think of drinking just think of that man, If the sight of him doesn't keep you away from hard liquor I don't know what will. On Thursday I went to Trivia at Myrons. I am not a fan of Darcy the trivia guy, but other than that him hosting trivia it was a fun night. I got drunk and extremely wet, from the foam party of course. Thanks to Brad, I got completely covered in foam lol! I am short so the foam was over my head most of the time. Good times. Right now I'm at work trying to get caught up on homework. I spent an hour this morning writing out my chem lab only to realize I forgot to put my references in, so I re-wrote the whole thing. Not fun. Anywho, that's enough of an update for now. I'm off to eat my Greek salad, with extra feta cheese and olives:O
