Saturday, September 11, 2004As you can see Angie made me my own personal pic for my Autumn blog! I will update later :) *muah* ~EDIT~ This past week has flown by! Classes started on Wednesday and everything is picking up where I left it last April. I already have lots of work on my plate, but as long as I stay on top of it all I know I’ll do fine. My only worry is Organic Chem, I can already tell it will be challenging because I haven't taken a chemistry course in 3 years :| With a final exam worth 50% I’ll have to learn the course inside and out. Bria is in most of my classes and Johnny is in my foods class which I am very happy about. I am a little worried about my communications class, as we have to do a oral presentation at the end of the semester, but I am sure I'll be prepared by December and won't break out in hives, err at least I hope not! I am coming down with a cold, sneezing all morning at work and now at home. I think I need a good night's sleep and a neo-citron to clear my sinuses. Off to bed!
Tuesday, September 07, 2004Long post.. Working on 2.5 hours sleep when you are battling a sore throat is not something I would highly recommend to anyone. Last night I got off work at 12am and went home, Charles and I got to talking about a book we are both reading "the holographic universe" and next thing I know it's almost 4 hours later and I have to be up in less than 3 hours. My mind is still reeling over the endless possibilities and the millions of uncertainties that came up from a simple discussion about our world being "holographic". I will write more about my thoughts on this subject later, it's way too complex for this hour of the morning. Here is a brief synopsis I found online for anyone who’s intrigued.(Don't be turned off by the physics/chemistry lingo, once you get into the book it gives an explanation to almost every phenomenon that we question in this day and age. Highly recommended to anyone with an open mind, which is scarce these days) It was really hard to get out of bed yesterday, thankfully the few hours went by really quickly. I spent yesterday morning washing, peeling, and cutting veggies at the upper room for supper as well as serving lunch. They were having a nice chicken dinner because of Labor Day. I am working Friday evenings starting next week so today was my last morning shift with a few of the ladies who are really sweet. I am sure I will be in to visit. It was extremely slow at work yesterday. I read Glamour (thanks Courtney), Cosmo and People Mag and I was bored out of my mind. On a brighter note I got paid 23.55 an hour to do all that ;) I am extremely tired this morning, working 4-12 then 8-4 sucks, especially on no sleep. I am really excited about going back to school and sharpening my mind..although if I had my way I would spend my life traveling and seeing our world while helping people/animals in some way (who doesn't want that though :P). I guess the first step towards that goal is educating myself. I was contemplating getting rid of our TV, mindless activities just aren't cutting it for me anymore, I just wish our culture wasn't so set in it's ways. I don't really watch that much TV when I am in school, but during my down time I am a sucker for reality TV and soaps. I do like the discovery channel and some animal shows so I guess it's still good to have access to a TV. My point is I am going to cut back on my televsion watching, all in moderation I guess :) I am starting to go off on totally different tangents, time to cut this post off. Only one more sleep until the chaos that is university begins...
