Friday, August 27, 2004During my two days off I watched Garfield, which was a very cute movie :) I liked it a lot because one of the main characters, Nermal, was a seal point Siamese just like Simon ;) I also went to see Collateral on Thursday night, not to be confused with Collateral damage featuring Arnold lol :P It was amazing, Tom Cruise was fantastic! It had an awesome sound track and a really obscure and interesting plot. I also went to blooming point on Wednesday night for Dan and Jenn's going away bash, lots of people showed up, fun times. We were safely tucked away hidden within the dunes which protected us from the wind. The waves were huge, but the current was too strong for swimming, although that didn't stop matt, chuck, dan and jenn from taking a late night dip. I had to get up early the next morning to go to the dentist, No cavities! I haven't had one since 1991, Booyahh! On a sad note, I asked if I was ever getting my wisdom teeth, my doc said they are all under my gums growing and that they are all impacted which means they will all need to be removed eventually. So my dreams of being one of the few people that doesn't get wisdom teeth was shattered lol. I have to get them taken out within the next 3 years, so I can get blue cross coverage from my parents while I am in school and "living at home". Not looking forward to that at all. I also finally got a hold of my eye doctor whom I have another appointment with next week to discuss surgery options :S Finally there is some hope for the Aliant strikers, there are going to be talks on Monday, the government stepped in and is getting a mediator because the strike has been going on for so long with no sign of a settlement. I hear that everyone could be back to work really soon! I am trying not to get my hopes up too much !:D Charles has the next 13 days off for vacation, lucky duck, that's almost a month! I also got my student loan in :D I plan on buying my books asap and getting some school supplies and do some shopping for school clothes early next week. Tonight, bored at work, someone come online and play monopoly with me !!
Monday, August 23, 2004Yesterday was a lonnng day... I slept in so I had to rush to get ready for volunteering, I got there just on time. We fed 58 people, which may not seem like a lot, but it's a small spot. Hopefully come the fall they will get the new building they are hoping to acquire which has much more room. Then it was off to UPEI smelling like soup and muffins, haha! I spent well over an hour waiting in line and getting my student loan business sorted out but since the bank of mom and dad are helping out I don't plan on using hardly any of it, just paying for books and incase of an emergency (possibly a new back to school wardrobe :P) Just kidding, I can't afford that, but it's nice to dream. I need to win the lottery because there's still no news about the strike ending, I think they are trying to drive everyone into the poor house. Damn you Aliant!!!!!! I am off tomorrow because Laura, a girl I work with, got into a bad accident with her parents car--4000$ later she is broke and needs the money before she moves to NS! Poor thing, I guess that's what happens when you run over an island in the parking lot :S I love this blog, but the whiteness is starting to annoy me, I might re-vamp my old blog, I miss it :( I am bored at work, my monopoly buddy (Ange) went to bed!! Ohhh, what to do.. what to do...;)
Sunday, August 22, 2004What a horrible few days.. After wearing the prism on my glasses for 2 days I was feeling okay, then I woke up in the middle of the night on Tuesday and tried to move and my head started spinning I was completely disoriented/nauseous and had no sense of balance, I guess changing the position of your eyes is more serious than I expected. This lasted for 2 whole days. I have never been so sick in all my life. I tried going to work on Wednesday, I shouldn't have even tried driving, got there, almost threw up on the floor and then James drove me home. I couldn't get a hold of my eye doctor because his office was closed for the weekend, but I stopped wearing that stupid prism, and I don't care what he says I am never wearing it again! I was feeling much better last night and even better this morning, still a little woozy but my eyes are adjusting back to normal. Last night I finally got out of the house after being confined to the couch and the bed for two days, and went to see "Open Water" with Charles. I absolutely love shark movies and was really pumped to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I though it was A+, really simple, but the emotional connection to the characters was very intense and real. I felt like I was the girl stranded in the middle of the ocean. I left the theaters feeling pretty sad and depressed, the rain outside didn’t make things any better. I wish the sun was shining, that would have made me feel better. Lets just say “Open Water” was not the feel good movie of the year, but it was definitely worth seeing, the tension and fear really gets under your skin. The shark shots were all real, and most of the movie was shot with a digital cam, very original. Off today @ 4, I’m hoping for a relaxing evening =)
