Wednesday, August 18, 2004So this is my new blog, handmade by Angie and I, mostly Ange lol ;) It feels really fresh and not as chaotic compared to my previous blog, I love my old blog but the yellow and majenta colors were starting to drive me insane. I haven’t posted in a while, so here it goes.. I got my car inspected today, which didn't cost too much thankfully! The check engine light is still on and they figure I need a new part which costs about 100$, not too bad I guess. In other news, I went to an Orthoptist yesterday (aka eye disorder specialist) and finally someone was able to confirm why I have headaches every single day. I have had headaches sometimes migraines almost every day since I was in junior high, and now they last longer and are more severe :S Without getting into the specifics (which are really confusing if you don't know anything about orthoptics), my headaches can be most likely be cured with another surgery. My left eye is strained 24-7 which causes headaches and migraines. Risks: my vision becomes worse and they tighten my eye muscle too much and I see double for a few years until my eye adjusts. My doc thinks I should get it done seeing as how it severely affects my day-to-day life. I can't imagine what life would be like without headaches, I am so used to having a one. I have to do some tests with some prisms on my glasses over the next few weeks (at home of course) and then decide if I want surgery, the waiting list is about a year, but I would rather have it fixed than be burdened with daily headaches for the rest of my life. Plus, studying is tough, I find it really hard to concentrate and focus, makes it hard to study when my head feels like it might explode. I finally gave my schedule request to my supervisor and I am working one shift a week starting in September, either Sat 8-4pm, Sat 4-12am or Sunday 8-4pm. I have labs on Mon, Wed, and Thurs, and luckily got a volunteer position for Friday nights at the soup kitchen. I thought I was going to have to find another place to volunteer because they didn't have a spot for me in the evenings but one lady can’t volunteer anymore on Friday night's so I am stealing her spot. That was a long update. I have a horrible headache and feel nauseous, I need some food and a new pair of eyes lol. Time to eat...
