Saturday, July 10, 2004On Thursday I ended up having to spend 300$ to get the alternator on my car re-built, not impressed :( Although, I really shouldn't complain because my car has had no major problems since I bought it. Good ol' 97 Neon :P I watched Fahrenheit 9-11 Thursday night, and wow, what an eye-opener. I felt sick to my stomach for most of the movie, it was shocking to say the least. The look on Bush's face when he found out that a plane crashed into the towers was horrifying, no emotion. He just kept going on with the children's press conference. Even when his secret service agent whispered in his ear another plane was hijacked and smashed into the towers he still sat there again with no emotion. What a tragedy. What will be an even bigger tragedy is if he gets elected again, which should NOT be allowed to happen. Thankfully Canada didn't join forces with the US for the war. I encourage everyone to see Fahrenheit 9-11, well worth it. I need a day of relaxation and rest but I'll have to wait another few weeks. I need to stop over thinking and worrying about everything. Over analyzing everything and not enjoying the present has always been a flaw of mine. Where's chocolate when I need it! ;)
Tuesday, July 06, 2004Yesterday was an extremely long day! Here's an update... I worked until 12am on Sunday and then got up early to volunteer at the Soup Kitchen on Monday morning. We made pancakes & eggs for everyone and since they usually only have soup they were all really excited which was nice to see. I left the soup kitchen around 12:45pm and headed home to change then went to UPEI to volunteer for the kids camp. After wandering around for 15 minutes I finally found everyone in the soccer field and we did aerobics for an hour with the fitness instructor. Then we went back to Dalton and taught the kids kitchen safety and made pancakes, which was funny since that’s what I had been making in the soup kitchen all morning, now I’m a pro!! The kids are a handful but some are really cute! Thankfully I have had lots of practice with patience because of my niece and nephew. Wednesday is the grocery tour and I can't wait to volunteer on Thursday, we're having a picnic with the kids and going mini-golfing!! Apparently next week they have 15 children enrolled in the camp so hopefully I can volunteer more as long as my schedule allows. Ainsley, Kim and Erica were really glad to have the extra help so I don't mind helping out as much as I can :) The Nutrition brochure is finally completed! Thankfully my schedule is still feasible. However..there are more courses required for the internship which is making it hard to fit them all in. Bah! I can't wait until I am going into 4th year and am almost finished! Also went to see Spider Man2 last night with my man. I must say it was better than the first movie, the action sequences were really intense but I didn't like the overall plot so I guess I was a little disappointed. The ending however, was great! I bet there will be another sequel starring the Green Goblin! I work 8-4’s this week so hopefully there will be no more 6 days of 4-12’s in a row! Tonight it’s off to Fantasia party at Mel’s, I can’t wait to buy goodies :D:D ** Note: everyone should check out Courtney’s page, as I uploaded some cute graphics to spice up her page. It’s still under construction ;) I am winded from that update.. Chow!!
