Friday, January 09, 2004I guess I underestimated how many things I would need to get done after starting my classes at UPEI. The past week has been pretty crazy with classes every day, working 3 shifts a week, and trying to get books for all my classes. I only have two books to buy, but they are the hardest to find! It also took a while to figure out my student loan stuff, so much paperwork. I never even knew where the post office was before today, I went there after class and I almost forgot my SIN card which would have made for another trip all the way home and back, thankfully I found it. Blah, student loans suck, I liked it much better when I mooched off moms' and pops'. Maybe next year :P probably not though since my dad is retiring. I also got my student ID yesterday and thank god it actually looks half decent, compared to my old one which was pulled out every now and again for a good laugh while drinking. Soooo, I am busy with papers already, trying to get a head start on everything. Things are looking good, I am LOVING nutrition, and can't wait until next year when I get to take more classes that are focused specifically on Nutrition :) I know it's only the first of second semester, but I can already see how different my outlook is towards my courses compared to my first year at UPEI, I am not a Biology major anymore (thankfully) and love the fact that I am learning and studying what I am interested in, too bad I didn't figure this out years ago. Learning is definitely boosting my self-confidence, I am actually starting to feel better about myself. I think 04' is shaping up to be an awesome year :)
Wednesday, January 07, 2004This is my new winter Layout, I love it... but I can't wait until summer!! Wow, it's been a busy week so far. I started classes on Monday and I am very happy to be back at UPEI, it's where I always should have been, and where I plan on staying for the next 3 years. UPEI courses are definitely challenging, but I am really interested in the courses I am taking, and am excited about learning new information. The one thing I didn't miss about UPEI is walking from class to class in the BLISTERING cold!! Brrrrrr, I would say it's one of the windiest spots on the island. So, Psych 102 seems really interesting, I had a different prof for 101 so hopefully I'll adjust quickly. F/N 101 & 114 are by far my favorite classes, and lastly there is Stats which I plan on passing with flying colors despite the fact that it's a bitch of a course. I also started a new program at Watts, So now I am working one shift on the weekends in MSN, and a few short 4-5 hour shifts in the OnStar program during the week..which is pretty simple. Hopefully I will get to the gym more regularly now :) I'm really excited.... lots of change, It's about time :) Countdown to my B'Day- - 23 Days !
