Friday, October 03, 2003Good news, I wasn't one of the people moved to another program due to staffing cuts.. Bad news, charles was. It really sucks, they moved him because he is really technical and could handle covad, whereas some of the other staff just couldn't. They kept a lot of people in the program that suck at their job, lets just say there is an uproar in MSN at the moment. Just to let you know how crazy this is, they kept one guy... I won't mention his name, but he is narcoleptic. He falls asleep every 30 minutes. He constantly messages me and asks me to tell him stories so he doesn't fall asleep, which is sooo annoying. They moved charles who did the MSN training in one week when it took everyone else 2 weeks and is a great employee. They moved a LOT of great people, and kept a lot of slackers. Crazy. Watts looks out for their own best interests, not the employees. If it gets busy again they are moving everyone back to MSN, which is what will eventually happen, but still...It's bullshit and everyone is pissed. On a better note - I got my student loan garbage straightened out. I wasn't planning on getting one, but I want to have the money just incase I can't save up quite enough. It felt so weird being on the UPEI campus again, very nostalgic I must say. I have mixed emotions about going back, I am excited but scared to death at the same time. Very very sleepy, I wish I was home in bed... damn work.
Tuesday, September 30, 2003Wowzers, Juan struck Little ol' PEI hard yesterday :( Thankfully I worked the backshift so my car was safely parked in an empty parking lot, no trees nearby. We had no power most of the night, which didn't really matter because we always turn the lights off at night anyways. There was a bit of light from the generators but our computers and bots kept disconnecting argggg. It was scary driving home with all the huge poles along the streets and no traffic lights at the intersections. Our deck at the apartment was a mess! Potted plants everywhere, lawn chairs and the huge umbrella in the next yard. My parents lost a few trees, nothing serious thankfully. I hear that there are 5 or more boats sunk at the yacht club *gasp*.. and lots of damage done to the rest of the boats that didn't sink. That's horrible :( On the bright side we all have our health to be thankful for, material items can always be replaced. Speaking of health, I couldn't go to the gym this morning because of Juan! Damn you! I think Simon was scared with all the noise and wind while we were at work. He was waiting for us at the door when we got home, we went straight to bed and he wanted to sleep with us. He stayed in our bed snuggled by my neck for like 9 hours while we slept, too cute! The sound of him purring puts me to sleep lol !! I hate leaving him, I think I am experiencing some separation anxiety :P Still working on my new workout/nutrition blog, it's coming along :)
Monday, September 29, 2003No gym today :( I was preoccupied with Simon. We watched a movie this afternoon and he slept cuddled around my neck for almost 2 hours :) He's adorable.. everything I have always wanted in a cat and more. I have never seen a more affectionate cat, he loves to give kisses. He's a real show off when people come over to visit too, he wants to be everyone's best friend :) We introduced him to the landlords cat Carlo (who is about 4 times the size of Simon) and simon was hissing at him and got hunched up in the striking position.. Carlo was scared so he kept running away :S I don't understand it though, Simon is so gentle with us but he's very territorial with the other cat :S Hopefully they will eventually become friends. After work I am buying some clippers for his nails, the little guy has some sharp sharp claws :| I guess siamese are known for their claws. Anywho, enough about the cat.. back to work for me ! wOOt wOOt !
